Applicable Environment
If you log in to the router for the first time or perform the local configuration, you need to log in to the router through the Console port.
Pre-configuration Tasks Before configuring the router through the console port, complete the following tasks: Preparing the PC/terminal (including serial port and RS-232 cable) Installing terminal emulation program on the PC (such as Windows XP hyper terminal
Establishing the Physical Connection Do as follows on the router: Step 1 Connect the COM port on the PC and the console port on the router by cable. Step 2 Power on all devices to perform a self-check. ----
Configuring Terminals Do as follows on the PC: Step 1 Run the terminal emulation program on the PC, setting the communication parameter of the terminal to 9600 bps, data bit to 8, stop bit to 1. Specify no parity and no flow control. ----
Logging In to the Router Do as follows on the PC:
Step 1 Press Enter until a command line prompt such as Quidway appears. Now enter the configuration environment in the user view. ----
